The first part of the application should take around 5-15 minutes to complete.
What happens after I apply?
The school will review your application and contact you directly.
When should I apply?
As early as possible. Remember that the application is free, so the earlier you complete it, the earlier you will receive the result from the school and make your plans.
Do you really need an accredited course in order to gain employment?
Most respected international schools expect their new teachers to be trained to teach English and more and more schools and even local education ministries around the world want their teachers to have an accredited certificate to prove their competence. The Cambridge CELTA is one of the most respected and well-known training courses, on the market.
The second consideration here is your own confidence. Starting to teach English is made a great deal easier if you have some idea of what you are doing, why you are doing it and how to go about teaching. The course gives you this confidence to walk into a classroom prepared and ready to teach.
Does your school help in finding accommodation?
Yes! We try hard to meet your needs and place you in the accommodation style of your choice. We can assist you in finding a flat with someone else on the course or with a Georgian family.
What level of English grammar is expected prior to enrolment?
Native speakers often have little experience of English grammar however what we look for in this instance is your ability to analyse English grammar i.e. whether you have a feeling for language so you can help students with their problems. You will need to research grammatical areas before teaching a class and you will receive help during the course about how to do this effectively and you will also be given information about where to find assitional assistance once you start teaching.
CELTA applicants must have completed some form of higher education in order to be accepted on the course although the degree subject may not be language related.
Non- native speaker teachers must have a minimum B2 level. If you have any language certificates eg. FCE or CAE it would be very useful if you could send a copy to us for our records and to inform the tutor of your level and abilities.
What is you returns policy?
If cancellation is received 15 days before the course start date, payments minus deposit will be refunded. The deposit will not be refunded in the case of a cancellation received within less than 15 days before the start date. ETI cannot refund payments of courses and/or accommodation once the course starts. Notification of cancellation must be sent in writing to ETI.
What If I fall ill during the course?
If you are unable to complete the course, we will offer you a place on the next available course to complete your portfolio. You will need to provide medical evidence of your illness.
What if I decide to withdraw from the course?
ETI does not refund payments of courses and/or accommodation once the course starts.
